The Chairmen and Organizing Committee of DET’06 are pleased to invite you to participate in the 3^rd International CIRP Sponsored Conference on Digital Enterprise Technology that will be held in Setúbal, Portugal, from 18^th to 20^th September 2006.

The first Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) International Conference was held in Durham, UK, in 2002 and the second DET Conference in Seattle, USA, in 2004. The 3^rd DET Conference follows on from the success of the first two meetings and will take place in Setúbal, Portugal. DET 2006 will be the first CIRP sponsored event organized in Portugal and we are certain that the Setubal Region offers an excellent environment in which to host the Conference. This region offers a variety of interesting activities set in a beautiful landscape with a pleasant climate (particularly in the month of September), and a vibrant working environment with considerable University research and industrial activity in the area of Digital Enterprise Technologies. Hence, we are aiming to bring together leading academic researchers and practicing engineers from around to world to discuss their research and industrial developments, experiences and trends in the wider field of Digital Enterprise Technologies.
