The Portuguese Chapter of the ACM SIGGROUP is an official Professional Chapter of the ACM. It has been chartered by the Membership Activities Board of the Association for Computing (ACM) on the 27th January 2003. The group officers are currently the following (all with the School of Technology of Setúbal): Joaquim Filipe (Chair), José Cordeiro (Vice Chair), Paula Miranda (Secretary) and Hugo Gamboa (Treasurer). The focus of the Portuguese Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Groupware, also known as The Portuguese ACM SIGGROUP is on computer-based systems that have a team or group impact in workplace settings. A strong emphasis of the Portuguese SIGGROUP is the integration of multiple computer-based tools and technologies and the impact on the human activities supported by those tools and technologies. Relevant issues include design, implementation, deployment, evaluation, methodologies and impact that arise when researching computer-based systems in a development environment. Its main topic areas will be: Computer Supported Cooperative Work; Group Decision Support Systems; Computer Mediated Communication; Computer Supported Collaborative Learning; Internet & Intranets; Virtual Communities; Distributed Artificial Intelligence; Social Information Systems; Organizational Semiotics; Enterprise Information Systems; Workflow. |
